St Therese of Lisieux Primary School is situated on the Antrim Road in North Belfast, nestled in at the foot of the Cavehill.
The accommodation comprises of 17 classrooms with shared learning areas, 2 specially-dedicated Special Needs rooms, a large assembly hall, library, medical room and canteen.
Primary One classrooms have their own cloakrooms and toilet areas and there are two disabled toilets, one in the main building and one in the extension. There are two well designed playground areas with seating. The main building has a purpose built lift to the second floor.
Currently, we are designing an outdoor classroom with a sensory area, storytelling area and role play area. There will also be a creative play area with a sandpit, wall boards for reading and writing and a garden area where children can plant and grow their own herbs and flowers.
We have a school canteen which all children can use. There are two sittings for meals, which cost £2.30. If using the canteen for a full week, parents are requested to pay at the beginning of each week, to ease administration.

Parent Meetings
At the start of each school year, parents are invited to a Curriculum Talk given by their child’s teacher, where the teacher will outline the curriculum the children will be learning during the coming year and the key events pertaining to that year group.
Individual interviews are held at different times throughout the year. Parents of our P1 children are invited into the school at the end of September and in February to discuss their child’s progress. Parents of children in P2 and P3 meet with their child’s class teacher in February and parents of children in P4-P7 meet with their child’s teacher in November.
Parents receive end-of-year reports in June each year.
The school operates an open door policy and parents are very welcome to arrange to see their child’s class teacher at any time throughout the school, at a time mutually convenient to both.
School Newsletter
We have a School Newsletter which is sent home at the beginning of each month. It contains important information about school events, celebrates some of the children’s achievements and generally helps to keep parents up-to-date with life at St Therese of Lisieux.
The Association of the Friends of St Therese
We have a very active Parents’ Association which supports the school with many fund raising events throughout the school year. Funds are used to purchase additional resources and equipment for the school. The Association is always looking for new members and welcomes any parent who can help out whether as a fulltime member or on a part-time basis. If interested, please leave your name at the school office and a member of the Association will get in touch with you.
