The boys and girls from Primary 6 & 7 took part last week in the North Belfast heats of the Belfast City Council cross country championships at the Grove Playing Fields.
Up first was the girls and boys from Primary 6 to tackle the 1.5km course which had been fortunate to have a decent spell of dry, sunny and windy weather which allowed it to be in prime condition for the boys and girls to run. Both teams were able to secure multiple top 10 finishes in the individual timed runs and collectively placed in the top 4 which resulted in them qualifying for the finals day.
The Primary 7 girls and boys were set a high marker to follow but stepped up to the mark to deliver another excellent overall performance from both individuals and also the teams. Securing multiples places in the top 10 individuals times in both the girls and boys races, this contributed to both teams again placing in the top 4 which qualifies them for the finals day.
The children were extremely proud of their performances and shone as fantastic ambassadors for the school during the event. Finals day will take place on the 2nd of April at Mallusk playing fields. Well done to everyone!
