Well done to our boys from Primary 6 and 7 who took on St Patrick's Primary School who are this year's Division 4 champions.
Playing at St Malachy's College in a North Belfast derby final to give a little extra impetus, both teams put on a fantastic display of catching, tackling and score taking which provided a highly competitive and entertaining final.
The first half was very much end to end football with both sides taking their opportunities and scores. Slick passing moves, secure hands and confident kicking saw the lead to and fro up until half time when St Patrick's kicked the last point of the half to end the first half as a draw.
The second half saw St Therese come out of the blocks quickly and settle into the game, scoring a quick succession of points and goals to take a strong lead. As the half progressed and a little complacency set it, St Patrick's staged a bit of a comeback and managed to score a quick brace of goals and points to close the deficit.
In the end though, St Therese managed to regain their composure and finished the game out strongly to secure victory and the cup. This was an excellent spectacle for a final and a great advertisement for gaelic games in North Belfast. Well done to all of the boys involved!
