A HUGE THANK YOU to all the families who participated in the Great Mathematics Bake Off 2023 competition. We were overwhelmed with the efforts made by so many! It was great to see the children applying their measuring skills to bake some tasty treats! This is a wonderful way to further develop your child’s measuring skills at home. I saw evidence of so many mathematical concepts in action: counting cupcakes, making patterns, finding the total number of buns, weighing out ingredients using a variety of units of measure, converting measures, recording time, setting the temperature of ovens, cutting fractions of cakes, problem solving, etc. . . The list was endless! The standard was so high I even noticed a couple of celebrity judges had popped into one house!! Congratulations to our winners: Lucy, Joseph, Alex, Kaelan, Sophia, Ursula and Tom. Below is just a sample of the wonderful entries we received this year. Every child who submitted an entry was rewarded with a night off homework and a certificate for all their efforts!
