Liz Bryson Cup 1st Round Vs Victoria Park
The girls from Primary 6/7 took on Victoria Park PS in the 1st Round of the Liz Bryson Cup at the Avoniel Leisure Centre yesterday.
In their first game of the year, the girls didn’t take long to get into their stride and were able to create chances from the first minute.
Both sides kept putting pressure on their opponents but strong defending and some excellent goalkeeping kept the game scoreless.
As the first half came to a close, they managed to create and finish the best chance of the half to take a one nil lead at half time.
The second half followed the same pattern as the first but St Therese were able to double their lead quickly giving them space to breathe.
As the game was coming to an end, Victoria Park managed to score a goal which put wind in their sails and encouraged them to push on for an equaliser.
Cheered on by their home support, they threw everything they had at St Therese who managed to hold strong and see out the game to emerge as winners.
Well done to all of the girls and good luck in the next round.
