Thank you to all the boys and girls who participated enthusiastically in activities for Maths Week Ireland. The P4 children enjoyed participating in a live quiz and the P5 children had great fun visiting W5 to see Bubblz, the mathematical clown. The children were fascinated that Bubblz was able to measure using balloons. A couple of our staff even found themselves starring in the show! The entries for the mathematics art competition were outstanding! Congratulations to all our winners: Ruben, Kealan, Jessica, Jude, May, Ciaran, Maisy, Meabh, Eabha, Oisin, Sofia, Ruari, Saorlaith and Brendan.
To end the celebrations, we had a prize draw for a ‘Madlug’ backpack. Congratulations to Sofia in P6 who won the backpack! A lovely prize to acknowledge the great work going on in the school!
‘Madlug’ has a ‘Buy one Give one’ approach so for every ‘Madlug’ backpack purchased, one will be given to a child in care. Most children in care transport their worldly belongings in a plastic bag. Every bag purchased helps a child in care carry their lives with dignity. (madlug.com)
Finally, thanks to all the children who always show great enthusiasm when engaging in challenging problem-solving tasks. It is wonderful to see the children becoming confident, competent problem solvers, developing a range of thinking skills and personal capabilities. Keep up the great work!
