The children in Primary 7 have been exceptionally busy working on the 'Beyond Bricks' personal development programme that has been facilitated by the Mind Wise organisaiton.
The children took part in a 5 week block of lessons that was based around the use of Lego to recognise, enhance and support their coping skills, self awareness, motivation, social resilience and self control.
The children used role based learning as Engineers, Suppliers and Builders whilst working with Lego to complete builds of a range of different lego themed structures.
It was fantastic to see their motivation, engagement and sense of teamwork in collaborating with their peers to complete the tasks. It was encouraging to also receive their feedback on the lessons and how much they benefitted from the sessions. Their contributions were striking and well thought out, demonstrating just how aware they are of the pressures our young people can feel.
Well done to all of the children who took part. Our facilitator Rachel was glowing in her praise of the children and how much she enjoyed working with them.
