Season Kick Off
The school sporting season commenced in earnest this week with the beginning of the school football and GAA seasons in the same week.
On Monday, our Primary 7 boys made the short trip down the Antrim Road to take on their North Belfast neighbours in St Patrick's Primary School at the Pim Street multi-sport pitch. In a game was played in greasy conditions, the boys put in a great performance to seal the victory in the first round of the Cyril Murray 7-a-side cup. A tightly contested game saw our boys emerge victorious to progress to the next round of the cup where they will play Christ the Redeemer Primary School. Well done to the boys who conducted themselves magnificently on and off the pitch.
In the same week, we also saw the start of the Cumann na mBunscol season with the Girls Football League taking place at Shaftsbury Recreation and Community Centre. The girls played three games on the day against Gaelscoil Eanna, Scoil an Droichid and Bunscoil Bheann Mhadagain. Securing a victory and 2 narrow losses it was fantastic to see the girls representing their clubs and families with great pride. There were some standout performances that were noted by the other coaches and officials and the girls are looking forward to their next games.
Well done to all the boys and girls who took part this week for representing your school with such pride and distinction.
