The Great Mathematics Bake Off Competition
A HUGE THANK YOU to all the families who participated in the Bake Off competition. We were overwhelmed at the efforts made by so many! It was great to see the children applying their measuring skills to bake some tasty treats! This is a wonderful way to further develop your child’s mathematics skills at home. We saw evidence of so many mathematical concepts in action: counting cupcakes, making patterns, finding the total number of buns, weighing out ingredients using a variety of units of measure, recording time, setting the temperature of fridges and ovens, cutting fractions of cakes, problem solving, etc. . . The list was endless! Every child who submitted an entry was rewarded with a night off homework and a certificate for all their efforts! A special mention must go to our prize winners: Jude, Norah, Mary, Emma, Henry, Lucy, Alice and Aurelia. Here is just a sample of the entries received.
